My name is Alex Bradley and I am a Senior Accredited BACP Counsellor/Psychotherapist who has worked as a therapist in the North West of Ireland since 1993. For then past ten years I have incorporated into my practice additional skills utilising a variety of approaches to help clients explore blocked areas of their inner self, gradually moving to a place of self- acceptance and positive life change. I am a registered hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner with a specific interest and experience in helping clients overcome addictions.
I hold a BSc Hons Degree in Psychology, The Diploma in Addiction Studies (UUM) and the Certificate of Continuing Professional Education in Addiction Counselling (Whiteoaks). I am also a Relate Accredited Relationship Counsellor having worked for 15 years within the Relate federation. In 2002 I co – developed Northwest Counselling ( A not for profit counselling agency located in the Northwest) and developed a team of 14 counsellors and psychotherapists in my previous role as Clinical Director.
As an experienced counsellor working within community groups I gradually found my role as a counsellor take a natural pathway into counselling supervision, training and consultative support for individuals holding managerial roles within private and statutory organisations.
Through formal clinical supervision training undertaken at Relates Herbert Grey College in Rugby in 2001, I became eligible to receive accreditation as a clinical supervisor with the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Since 2005 I have been providing clinical supervision for a variety of locally based counselling organisations including students undertaking counsellor training courses at local 3rd level institutions.
In 2013 I retired from my role at Northwest Counselling and currently work a counsellor/psychotherapist and trainer in private practice.
