Counselling

There are many reasons a person may wish to speak to a counsellor.
I’ve listed some of the issues which present regularly in my counselling practice.

  • Depression
  • Trauma
  • Abuse
  • Work-related issues
  • Panic or Anxiety
  • Relationship issues
  • Low self esteem
  • Managing Anger
  • Bereavement
  • Sexuality
  • Spirituality
  • Childhood trauma
  • Alcohol/drug dependency

To determine the appropriate approach within counselling an initial assessment is usually completed. On that basis we may agree to continue to meet for a specific number of sessions.
On occasions we may be required to contact your GP to determine your suitability for counselling. Where counselling is not an option e.g. severe depression, I will try and advise on the best course of treatment.

For clients who are experiencing social or financial difficulties I can help you make direct referral to counsellors who can provide services at reduced or no financial cost.
